GWP is the abbreviation for Global Warming Potential. Many synthetic refrigerants still have a relatively high GWP value and are harmful to the climate. With the natural refrigerants we prefer, we can achieve a GWP value of 1 and 0 for ammonia. Together with the partner companies of the bluu unit, we work on this every day: The Natural Refrigeration Alliance!

"The Natural Refrigeration Alliance" is our vision and mission. For us as bluu unit, this means taking responsibility and understanding sustainability as the driving force behind our daily actions. For us, the comprehensive responsibility arising from this claim is not in contradiction to successful business, but ensures that we can make a positive contribution to a future worth living.

Fluorinated greenhouse gases, which are still used in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, remain one of the biggest challenges for our climate. The F-Gas Regulation has set in motion a legally regulated transformation process towards more climate-friendly alternatives.

 

We are already technologically more advanced than required by the F-Gas Regulation. We share our knowledge of natural refrigerants and their efficient use with all companies in the bluu unit alliance. Our aim is also to use this expertise and the strength of our alliance as a technology leader, driving force and enabler to move the entire industry towards the future faster than required by law.

The bluu unit sees itself as part of society, both as an administrative umbrella organization and through the individual, regionally responsible companies. Every bluu unit company follows our value-oriented approach and is committed to all employees, partners and suppliers.

 

Inclusion plays an important role in our company. The special needs and requirements of employees who live with a disability or who have family members with a disability are specifically addressed, for example through individual agreements regarding working hours, working days or breaks. Each bluu unit company also supports local associations or social institutions.

The strategy of the bluu unit is aimed less at quantitative and more at qualitative growth. This means that we also want to use the strength of the alliance to promote the use of natural refrigerants. We are actively involved in the transfer of knowledge between our companies. Our academy plays a central role in this. Specialists are trained and further educated. The next generation, whether managers or specialists, act in the spirit of the bluu unit - the natural refrigeration alliance. On this basis, we are establishing an economically successful, future-oriented and therefore sustainable corporate model.

Integrity, honesty and business ethics are top priorities for bluu-unit. Our code of conduct is based on our value system. We follow this code and treat each other and our business partners with respect and fairness. This is how we will continue our success as an alliance for natural refrigerants in the long term. In our Code of Conduct, we set out what this means for our actions in our day-to-day work.

We do not tolerate intentional violations. In order to be able to investigate these, we provide an anonymous whistleblower system.

This is why our corporate success never takes precedence over ethics and integrity.
This Code of Conduct forms the framework for the corporate culture of bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries. It sets out in clear terms what bluu unit GmbH and its alliance members expect from their employees as employers and is intended to serve as a practical guideline. It is very important to us that we identify with these guidelines and thereby constantly reinforce our corporate culture. We discuss any differences of opinion with our direct superiors. By keeping our shared values in mind, we become aware of what we expect from each other, what behavior we encourage and what is not tolerated under any circumstances. Managers and the Executive Board have a particularly important role to play here: they exemplify the values and principles of this Code of Conduct and ensure that they are adhered to.

This policy applies to all executives, board members, trainees, interns and permanent or temporary employees of bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries (direct and indirect) without geographical restriction.

Confidential and personal information with which we come into contact in the course of our business activities must always be protected conscientiously.

Confidential information and business secrets are neither made available internally nor externally to unauthorized persons, nor is such information used for personal gain.

bluu unit GmbH and its alliance members guarantee a high level of data protection thanks to a large number of technical and organizational measures. We treat the personal data of our customers, business partners and employees with particular confidentiality. The principles of data protection are consistently adhered to by treating all personal data with appropriate security, processing it lawfully, fairly and transparently and not retaining it for longer than necessary.

In the implementation of our business activities, we are guided by and respect the rights and laws of the countries in which we operate. We observe the internal guidelines and standards to which we have voluntarily committed ourselves.
We conduct our business on the basis of honesty, integrity and the quality of our services.
We comply with tax legislation. When implementing legal and fiscal obligations, we always act to the best of our knowledge and belief. bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries respect national law and always comply with applicable UN, EU or other European sanctions.

bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries comply with all applicable anti-corruption laws, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and all applicable local laws where bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries operate. Business partners must not offer, promise, give (including bribes), demand or accept bribes or other improper benefits, including disproportionate gifts and entertainment, in order to obtain, retain or award business.

bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries comply with the applicable competition and antitrust laws. All measures aimed at unlawfully restricting competition and/or violating legal regulations must be avoided.

In principle, agreements between companies, decisions by associations of companies and concerted practices that have as their object or effect the prevention, restriction or distortion of competition are prohibited.

bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries fully comply with their obligations to prevent money laundering.

Money laundering is often a complicated matter and difficult to recognize. Every representative of bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries is obliged to avoid unusual financial transactions and to attach great importance to them.

This applies in particular to cash transactions or indirect transactions that are processed via third parties and that could give rise to suspicion of money laundering.

Possible suspicious cases must be reported to the supervisor and / or the management or the Compliance Officer of bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries.

bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries operate in a manner that respects the environment and complies with all applicable environmental laws, regulations and standards.

The operation, procurement, manufacture and distribution of products and the provision of services should be based on the premise of protecting and preserving the environment as far as possible.

bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries support and respect the protection of international human rights as laid down in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in the fundamental conventions of the International Labor Organization.

bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries expressly reject child and forced labor, labor that is facilitated by human trafficking and other illegal labor.

It is important to us to offer fair working conditions - health and safety in the workplace are our top priority.

We see integrity and honesty as a core element of our business activities and in our dealings with our shareholders, employees and business partners.

When carrying out business activities, we always ensure compliance with the law and ethics, whether as an individual or as a representative of the company. bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries are committed to complying with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting requirements. We ensure that all financial information does not contain any false or misleading statements. This is supported by our internal control systems.

The assets of our companies form the basis of our business activities. It is therefore essential to handle these assets in a responsible and resource-conserving manner and to protect them from damage and loss.

The handling of the companies' assets is only permitted for the legitimate implementation of operational activities. The protection of the company's intellectual property is also an important part of our actions and is expected of every employee.

Our business activities are based on objectivity and not on personal interests. We therefore always endeavor to avoid conflicts between personal interests and the interests of the companies.

Should conflicts of interest arise, these must be disclosed internally to the direct superior without delay. If a conflict of interest cannot be avoided in an individual case, adequate measures will be taken to ensure that the conflict does not have a detrimental effect on the company. In particular, personal or financial interests in suppliers, competitors or other third parties that could influence the objectivity of our work must be disclosed in this context.

Discrimination or harassment on the grounds of ethnic origin, gender, religion, belief, age, sexual identity, disability or other personal characteristics will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The principles of equal rights and equal opportunities must be applied.
We regard all partners, employees and members of administrative and advisory boards as a team that works together to achieve the goals set and thus contribute to the success of the Group.
Our cooperation is based on fairness, respect, trust and mutual support. We encourage initiative and creativity, and implementation is based on teamwork. At the same time, common interests must always take precedence over personal interests.

Violations of this Code of Conduct can have serious consequences not only for the individuals concerned, but also for bluu unit GmbH and its subsidiaries.
Intentional misconduct will therefore not be tolerated and will be punished accordingly. Violations or suspected cases must be reported immediately to the direct line manager or the Compliance Officer so that appropriate measures can be taken.
If there are reasons to believe that the line manager himself is involved in the violating or conflicting actions or has knowledge of them, employees can contact the management or the Advisory Board. Such reports will be treated confidentially in all cases.
Violations of this Code of Conduct may lead to measures under employment law, depending on the locally applicable legal regulations. Furthermore, corruption-related infringements and competition agreements can also be prosecuted by the state.

This Code of Conduct cannot cover all topics and questions relating to compliance. Employees are therefore requested to contact their line manager at any time if they have any questions, comments or uncertainties.
