2026

At the beginning of the year, bluu unit continues to grow in Europe: Tech Refrigeration and Air Conditioning from Dublin becomes a new member and establishes the alliance in Ireland for the first time, a dynamically growing market for refrigeration, air conditioning, and data center solutions. Subsequently, KKT Innovations GmbH from Cadolzburg, a leading market player in the field of modular construction, is strengthening its presence in northern Bavaria and expanding its range of services to include highly specialized individual solutions in the field of refrigeration, air conditioning, and MSR technology.

2025

Second half-year

In the course of the year, three other strong partners will also join: the isomix Group as a specialist in ventilation technology and indoor air purification, the KKL Group as a renowned heavyweight in the industry with over 300 employees and the IPS Group in Switzerland as the first international member of the alliance.

Together, they stand for technological depth, international reach and strategic strength and are setting new standards in refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation technology in Germany and, for the first time, beyond the country's borders.

2025

First half year

bluu unit strengthens its Germany-wide presence in the east with Koschke GmbH and its subsidiary HESAN GmbH as new alliance members. WILMS Kälte-Klima-Lüftung Systemtechnik GmbH also becomes part of bluu unit and expands the team of K3 Kälte Klima Köln GmbH in North Rhine-Westphalia. With the ACI Group and Heuberger Kälte Klima GmbH, bluu unit welcomes two more specialists in refrigeration and air conditioning technology to the alliance.

2024

Strang Kälte + Klimatechnik GmbH, Hauschild Kälte-Klima-Elektrotechnik GmbH, KLK Klima-Lüftung-Kälte GmbH, Knipping Kälte & Klimatechnik GmbH and T&K Klima Team GmbH are strengthening the bluu unit alliance. The umbrella company behind the partnerships, bluu unit, has a visible presence on the market and is your direct line to Germany's best refrigeration and air conditioning technicians.

2023

Growth accelerates. With the addition of aeria GmbH from Neustadt, the now well-established Kälte Eckert Group expands its range of services. Furthermore, additional strategic partners are acquired: WSH Wurziger Klimatechnik GmbH from Schnelldorf-Hilpertsweiler and ^K3 Kälte Klima Köln GmbH.

2022

Triton acquires the shares of VR Equitypartner GmbH in order to accelerate the growth strategy towards a Germany-wide competence network in refrigeration and air conditioning technology. Michael Eckert and Holger Eckert remain shareholders with a significant stake.

2020

With Gartner, Keil & Co. Klima- und Kältetechnik GmbH and SOS Klimatechnik GmbH, two further high-performance companies have been added. Frank Keil and Alexander Stiegler remain managing directors of their companies. The catchment area expands to include the Munich metropolitan region.

2019

The majority of Günther Kältechnik GmbH, based in Plüderhausen, is taken over. Jörg Günther remains Managing Director in unchanged form. The well-known company name Günther Kältetechnik will be continued.

2017

The idea of a platform strategy is concretized. In order to support the associated growth, VR Equitypartner GmbH (Beteiligungsgesellschaft Frankfurt) acquires a stake in Kälte Eckert GmbH. Michael Eckert and Holger Eckert continue to hold a significant stake in the company and remain the sole managing directors.

F-Gases Regulation

Knowing what is important.

The F-Gases Ordinance lays down strict regulations for the handling of F-gases. Among other things, it regulates the import, sale, use and disposal of these gases. The regulation significantly reduces emissions of F-gases, which contributes to a reduction in the greenhouse effect.

Accelerated phase-down of the total amount of fluorinated greenhouse gases available to zero in 2050.
From 01.01.2025, ban on placing single split air conditioning systems and heat pumps < 3 kg filling quantity of F gases > 750 GWP on the market.
From 01.01.2027 Ban on the placing on the market of split air/water
air conditioning systems and heat pumps < 12 KW and > 150 GWP.
From 01.01.2029, ban on placing split air-to-air air conditioning systems and heat pumps < 12 KW and > 150 GWP on the market.
From 01.01.2029, ban on placing split air conditioning systems and heat pumps < 12 KW and > 750 GWP on the market.
From 01.01.2033 Ban on placing split air conditioning systems and heat pumps < 12 KW and > 150 GWP on the market.
From 01.01.2035, ban on placing split air conditioning systems and heat pumps < 12 KW on the market - generally without F-gas (0 GWP).
From 01.01.2026, ban on the use of fresh products with a GWP above 2500 for air conditioning systems and heat pumps.
From 01.01.2032, ban on the use of fresh products with a GWP above 750 for air conditioning systems and heat pumps (with the exception of chillers).
From 01.01.2032, the use of recycled or reconditioned refrigerants with a GWP > 2500 is no longer permitted. It should be noted that many refrigerants used on the market, such as R407F or R407C, cannot be reconditioned or no longer have the same temperature glide after reconditioning.
From 26.01.2024, regular leak checks must be carried out for systems. Now not only for HFCs and HFCs and their mixtures (> 2kg), but also for unsaturated HFOs, such as R1234yf (> 3kg).

Significance for existing systems

Many existing refrigerants and synthetic substitute refrigerants will no longer comply with the legally binding F-Gas Regulation in future. A switch to natural refrigerants will therefore be unavoidable. Furthermore, operators are obliged to have leak checks carried out on refrigeration systems above a certain_{CO2 equivalent} at the following specified intervals:

5 to 50 tons (or 10 to 50 tons for hermetic systems)_{of CO2 equivalent} per refrigeration circuit: every 12 months or every 24 months if a leakage detection system is installed.
50 to 500 tons_{of CO2 equivalent} per refrigeration circuit: every six months or every 12 months if a leak detection system is installed.
More than 500 tons_{of CO2 equivalent} per refrigeration circuit: every three months or every six months if a leak detection system is installed.

What needs to be done?

In order to be able to make a decision in the interests of the user and operator, the most important properties of the various refrigeration systems and refrigerants should first be clarified with regard to temperature ranges, safety, structural requirements for the installation site, availability, cost-effectiveness, ease of servicing and system technology. Are there any funding opportunities?

A state subsidy program is available for the investment costs of retrofitting existing systems or building new systems. Environmental friendliness and economic efficiency are at the forefront when awarding these subsidies (no repayment obligation / 20% of the net investment, max. €100,000). Our partner, Kälte Eckert GmbH, is recognized and listed by the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control as a competent expert for the preparation of the necessary profitability reports.

Short compendium

The European Union's F-Gas Regulation has been in force since January 1, 2015. It is part of the European Green Deal. The aim of the regulation is to reduce the use of fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases). These gases contribute significantly to global warming and have a considerable impact on climate change. Which ones are there?

In the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, ammonia (_NH3 ) carbon dioxide (_CO2) and propane are used in particular. Air and water are also natural refrigerants.

Advantages?

All natural refrigerants have an extremely low GWP value (GWP = Global Warming Potential) and therefore contribute to climate protection. In addition, all natural refrigerants are absolutely future-proof, even according to the latest F-Gas Regulation.
