Milestone in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry: KKL Holding GmbH becomes part of the bluu unit.A merger with a signal effect for the future of refrigeration and air conditioning technology.

Ludwigsburg / Düsseldorf
bluu unit GmbH has signed an agreement with SüdBG, the founder Andreas Kohmann and the management involved (Patrick Peters and Ingo Hoffmann) to acquire KKL Holding GmbH from Düsseldorf. With this transaction, bluu unit gains one of the most prominent specialists for refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation technology as well as data center solutions in Germany. The future cooperation sends a clear signal for growth and quality and combines a strong pool of young specialists, consistent customer orientation and future-proof technologies - this is exactly what the bluu unit alliance stands for. It brings together regional champions who are actively shaping the transformation pressure of F-gas regulation and the switch to natural and sustainable refrigerants.

KKL Holding sets standards - from training to customer service

With over 300 employees, including more than 60 trainees, a turnover of over EUR 80 million, three locations in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Stuttgart (Ebersbach an der Fils) and almost four decades of experience, KKL is an established name in the industry. KKL manages projects across all sectors - from office buildings and the retail market to industrial projects, data centers and private customers - its range of services covers a broad spectrum of modern refrigeration and air conditioning technology. While Allianz plays to its strengths in sustainable technologies, a broad range of services and a Germany-wide network, KKL contributes valuable expertise in training, coupled with high quality standards and the customer proximity that the bluu unit also stands for. In particular, Germany's largest training center for refrigeration and air conditioning technology and a 100% completion rate make KKL Klimatechnik a beacon in the promotion of young talent.

The expansion of its excellent market position in the field of data center air conditioning, the acquisition of Doubaras Kälte-Klima-Technik GmbH - a specialist for ultra-low temperature applications in the healthcare sector - and the establishment and development of the Stuttgart site mark significant milestones in the strategic development of the Group. This was complemented by the targeted expansion of FM Service GmbH as a specialist in the construction and modernization of data centers and the founding of XIUS GmbH, which specializes in prefabricated products in refrigeration and air conditioning technology. These measures underline the company's claim to offer innovative solutions for highly complex requirements and to further expand its leading role in the industry.

"I always want to get to the top and it is clear to me that the only way to success is through cohesion. With bluu unit at our side, we can join forces, seize new opportunities and actively shape the future together. Because at the end of the day, I believe that success is simply being happy"

says Patrick Peters, Managing Director of KKL Holding GmbH.

His managing director colleague Ingo Hoffmann adds:

"I see responsibility as a central aspect of our daily actions - towards our employees, our customers and our quality standards. Together with the bluu unit, we are creating the basis for sustainable, healthy growth and at the same time living up to our responsibility in the future."

Patrick Peters and Ingo Hoffmann have been jointly managing KKL Holding GmbH since 2016 and form a well-rehearsed duo that is now leading KKL into the next phase of growth.

A merger with strong impetus for the industry

KKL Holding GmbH joining the bluu unit alliance is far more than just another expansion step. It marks a milestone for the entire industry: the combination of KKL's pioneering training and young talent work, technical excellence and many years of project experience with the network and sustainable strategy of bluu unit creates a new dimension of strength, innovative power and future security.

"KKL is a prime example of practiced trust, reliability and innovative strength. The fact that we are going down this path together is a gain for the entire refrigeration and air conditioning industry in Germany"

emphasizes Nicolo Freyberg, Managing Director of bluu unit.

With the accession of KKL Holding, bluu unit is underlining its claim to raise the refrigeration and air conditioning industry to a new level. This step not only strengthens the joint innovative power, but also sends a clear signal for sustainable and future-oriented solutions in building technology.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the details of the transactions. The transaction is expected to be completed in Q4 2025.
